Explosion in Guns, Ammunition, and Gun Supply Prices

With the start of the new administration for the United States of America, avid shooters and hunters have been forced to experience an explosion in the cost of guns, the cost of ammunition, and gun supply prices. Not only is that indisputable fact evident, but also, the supply of many types of gun ammunition has dwindled to the point of rationing. Signs posted in many gun and sports stores limit a customer’s purchase to one or two boxes for any specific type of ammunition.

Skyrocketing Gun Prices

Many types of weaponry have held expensive price tags over the years. Typically, however, prices haven’t doubled and in some cases tripled during any one season. However, the fear that the Second Amendment that protects a citizen’s rights to own and bear arms might be at risk of being ignored has fueled a gun-buying frenzy that can only be called amazing, frustrating, and in some cases disappointing. The prices of some guns and most ammunition have increased by as much as 100% of last year’s prices.

The Hunt for a Gun Deal

This frenzy brings gun owners, both new and old, out in full force to look for bargains, to track down specific models, and to complete their collection of sharpshooters. Many of these individuals are simply avid target shooters or hunters who enjoy their hobby. There aren’t any secrets to the reasons they want to purchase more guns. They like their guns and shooting or hunting, much the same way that other individuals enjoy their hobbies whether it’s racing, sky diving, or jet skiing.

A touch of danger enters many hobbies, but the restrictions are minimal for the most part. However, the talk on the hill is that guns aren’t going to continue to be sold quite as freely as in the past and this is spurring the increase in pricing to the max. It is also creating a lack of supply and a rise in prices.

The hunt for a gun deal has become more difficult than shooting a spring turkey. Guns are few and far between and guns with bargain prices are almost non-existent. Gun owners are tapping into their cash reserves to purchase now while the buying of a gun is still a viable option. Not only is this driving up the prices as gun sellers realize that their livelihood might soon go the path of so many other entrepreneurs who are experiencing the downturn of the economy, but it is also depleting the supply of guns and their accompanying ammunition supplies.

Online, Sporting Store, or Auction- Does it Matter?

In all fairness, the difference in buying a gun or ammunition online, at a sporting store or at an auction hasn’t changed all that much. The procedure is much the same as before. However, what has changed is the fact that a good bargain isn’t available no matter which one of these businesses one uses to shop at. The prices are high and the fear is that they are about to go higher.

Intro: With every new administration, changes come about that not everyone is going to be happy with. What happens when one group of individuals seems targeted with changes for the worse? Gun owners are feeling the brunt of an administration that is touting higher taxes for many areas of commerce. Prices rise as supplies fall. What’s next?
